Music
String festival
The Las Vegas Chamber Music Society and the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District present the Summerlin String Festival and an evening of string music at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive. Admission is free. 507-3863.
John Sebastian
Singer/songwriter John Sebastian will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway. Tickets are $3 for lawn seating, $5 for section C, $7 for section B, $9 for section A and $12 for orchestra. 267-4849.
The Subdudes
One of the pioneers of roots-rock, the Subdudes, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door, free to children 12 and under. 455-8200.
Charlottemarie
Singer Charlottemarie will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Church of Religious Science, 1420 E. Harmon Ave., and at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Holistic Gardens, 5615 S. Pecos Road. Tickets are $15 for each performance. 241-7249.
Wes Winters
Pianist Wes Winters, who performs regularly at the Liberace Museum, will perform at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Tickets are $10. 658-6741.
'Gospelrock'
The public is invited to bring picnics, lawn chairs and blankets to "Gospelrock," featuring artist RSVP and several of Las Vegas' premier gospel singers, at 5 p.m. Saturday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center's ampitheatre, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Admission is free. 229-4800.
Shuffle-Aires
The Shuffle-Aires will perform their rockabilly/blues music from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Huntridge Circle Park, located at the intersection of South Maryland Parkway and Franklin Avenue. Admission is free, and picnics are welcome, but no glass containers. 229-4614.
'Sounds of Summer'
The following groups will perform at The District at Green Valley Ranch Station Casino as part of its "Sounds of Summer" series. All acts are free. 851-3081:
6 to 10 p.m. today -- The Fab, a Beatles tribute band.
6 to 10 p.m. Saturday -- Gypsy Nights, a four-piece band playing rhythmic jazz/R&B, old favorites and pop sensations.

Folklorico
The 8th Muestra Folklorico International, organized by dance group Tepuchcalli, will be performed at 7 p.m. today at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is $10 general, $5 seniors and children under 12. 455-7340.
Theater
'Texarkana Waltz'
The Community College of Southern Nevada, in conjunction with Greenhouse Theatrical Group and Jade Productions, presents "Texarkana Waltz" at 8 p.m. today, Saturday and Thursday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Little Theatre of the Performing Arts Center, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Admission is $15 adults, $12.50 seniors and students. 651-5483.
'Theater Trip'
"Theater Trip," a comedy by Jules Tasca, will be performed at 8 p.m. today and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday at the New City Theatre, 2900 E. Patrick Lane. Tickets are $14 general, $10 seniors and students. 795-0487.
'Fever!'
The Nevada Conservatory Theatre at UNLV presents "Fever! The Music of Peggy Lee," at 8 p.m. today and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at UNLV's Judy Bayley Theatre. Admission is $30 general, $25 seniors and military. 895-2787.
