Kids' fingerprinting on tap at 51s game
The Las Vegas Security Chiefs Association will host the fourth annual children's fingerprinting event at 6 p.m. Saturday at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
The night will include a baseball game featuring the Las Vegas 51s.
The annual event, sponsored by the security chiefs group, gives parents the opportunity to have their children fingerprinted free of charge and enjoy a family outing to the ballpark at the same time. The fingerprints are given to the parents as a valuable tool to assist police officers in the event their child is ever missing or abducted.
For more information, call 730-7175.
Markets to help Salvation Army
The Network of Executive Women in Hospitality Las Vegas is partnering with Albertson's supermarkets in a food drive that will run the weeks of Aug. 30 and Sept. 6 at all 39 Albertson's stores in Southern Nevada to benefit the Salvation Army.
To contribute to the stores' It's in the Bag promotion, Albertson's bagged $15 worth of nonperishable food items that people can purchase at $9.99 and drop off at a stand for the Salvation Army to pick up.
