Mayes named city manager

Boulder City's acting city manager since February had the "acting" removed from her title Tuesday.
The City Council voted 5-0 to make Vicki Mayes the city manager with an annual salary of $129,314. She will also receive a $450 monthly car allowance.
Mayes, who had been city clerk, had been acting city manager since Feb. 10, following former City Manager John Sullard's resigned under pressure from the council.
The council had initiated a broad search for a new city manager, but ended that search earlier this month, when the council decided to instead give the job to Mayes.
The council also voted 5-0 to appoint Pam Malmstrom acting city clerk. Malmstrom has been performing many of the city clerk's duties since Mayes was named acting city manager.
Malmstrom's salary will be about $72,000 a year. She will also receive a monthly car allowance of $350.
