Violence hits two casinos

Metro Police are investigating a shooting at the Palms and a stabbing at Paris over the weekend.
About 12:30 a.m. Saturday a man in a pickup truck fired a rifle at a group of people standing in the parking lot of the Palms hotel-casino at 4321 W. Flamingo Road.
One person was hit but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, Lt. John Alamshaw of the department's violent crimes section said.
Police have not determined a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.
At the sports book at Paris just before 7 p.m. Saturday an argument between two men left one with stab wounds.
Two men were sitting next to each other when a conversation escalated to a verbal altercation, Alamshaw said. It's not clear why the men were arguing.
One man pulled out a knife and stabbed the other several times. The man with the knife ran from the casino and has not been arrested.
The victim is being treated for his injuries at University Medical Center.
