Parthina L. Avritt
Parthina L. Avritt, 48, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 16, 1956, in Oregon. A resident for four months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Jawaun Avritt; one sister, Burnetta Avritt; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.
Kenneth R. Barnum
Kenneth R. Barnum, 39, of Las Vegas died Aug. 7 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 23, 1965, in Boulder City. A lifelong resident, he was a handyman.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer A.; his stepmother, Patricia J. Barnum; and three brothers, Scott M. Barnum, Keith R. Barnum and Randolph L. Barnum.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
James Wesley Elliott
James Wesley Elliott, 63, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 13, 1941, in Bragg City, Mo. A resident for six years, he was a retired supervisor in the printing industry and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; three daughters, Joy Lynn Elliott of Henderson, Jennifer Lea Sepanik of Howell, Mich., and Audrey Nicole Hughes of Las Vegas; one son, James Lee Elliott of Lima, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Laura Michelle Lee of Middleburg, Fla.; one stepson, Scott Albert Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother, Joy Elliott-Dietz of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Antonio Zepeda Espinoza
Antonio Zepeda Espinoza, 60, of North Las Vegas died Friday. He was born April 14, 1944, in Mexico. A resident for five years, he was a laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Celida Barrera Zepeda of California; 10 children, Wendy Zepeda, Joselyn Zepeda, Jazmin Zepeda, Jackline Zepeda, Antonio Zepeda, Jarecily Zepeda, Dalia Zepeda, Jose Antonio Zepeda, Rocio Zepeda and Mygela Zepeda; and one brother, Arnuflo Zepeda Espinoza.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Mexico.
Charles M. Jones
Charles M. Jones, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Altoona, Pa. A resident for 17 years, he was a claims manager for an insurance company and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Jennifer Miller of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be noon Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Peter M. Locascio
Peter M. Locascio, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1951, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, he was a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife, Susan L.; four daughters, Laura Locascio of Chicago, Amanda Locascio and Janine Locascio, both of Las Vegas and Angela Simler of Detroit; five sons, Jason Bell and Daniel Bell, both of Las Vegas, Peter M. Locasio Jr. of Fresno, Calif., Patrick Bell of Norfolk, Va., and Matthew Bell of Chicago; one daughter, Angela Simler of Detroit; three brothers, Gerald Locascio and John Locascio, both of Detroit and Joseph Locascio of Florida; and 14 grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., handled arrangements.
Juana Ponce
Juana Ponce, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A resident for nine months, she was born May 6, 1922, in Cuba.
She is survived by her husband, Luis; three daughters, Miriam Fye, Nancy Rocho and Elena Avila; and two grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Malvin W. Tepper
Malvin W. Tepper, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired property disposal officer, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Jewish War Veterans 711 and the Southern Nevada Stamp Club.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Adeline; two daughters, Arlene Tepper of Henderson and Karen Walsh of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Services will be noon Tuesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
Dr. Bernie Welan
Dr. Bernie Welan, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired certified hypnotherapist and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Lynne Levy of Marina Del Rey, Calif.; one son, Brian Welan of Denton, Texas; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was 1 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
The family suggests donations to the City of Hope, Los Angeles.

Dean Williams Sr.
Richard Dean Williams Sr., 66, of Pahrump died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 27, 1938, in Texas. A resident for two years, he was a janitorial technician at a race track and a member of the Elks and Moose lodges.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon E.; one son, Richard Dean Williams Jr.; one daughter, Candysan Fender; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in New Mexico. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
