Carlo Celeste

Carlo Celeste, 58, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 10, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a restaurant manager.

He is survived by his wife, Kellie A.; one son, Peter Celeste of Las Vegas; three brothers, Ron Celeste of North Carolina and twins Sal Celeste of New York and Phil Celeste of Nevada; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 1 p.m. today in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Elvin D. Dailey

Elvin D. Dailey, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1933, in Pangburn, Ark. A resident for four years, he was a retired pipe welder in the petroleum industry.

He is survived by one son, Tommy Dailey of Alburtis, Pa.; three daughters, Teresa Long of Batesville, Ark., Sherrl Wilhide of Allentown, Pa., and Carol Esterline of Las Vegas; two sisters, Betty Craft of Utah and Billie Patino of Oregon; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 4 p.m. service Monday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Frederick G. Fleck

Frederick G. Fleck, 56, of Corn Creek died Saturday in Corn Creek. He was born April 20, 1948, in San Francisco. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by one sister, Sandi Lee of Puyallup, Wash.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

June Faye 'Pat' Fountain

June Faye "Pat" Fountain, 73, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 21 years, she was a retired convenience store franchisee.

She is survived by four sons, David Keeler of Camarillo, Calif., Charles Keeler of Roy, Utah, Charles Alan Fountain of Jacksonville, Fla., and Raymond Keeler of Las Vegas; two sisters, Marjean Emerson of Las Vegas and Peggy Kirchhof of Santa Maria, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Monday in the LDS chapel at 3350 W. Alexander Road. Graveside services will be private.

The family suggests donations to the LDS Church's missionary fund.

Faye Williams Hatter

Faye Williams Hatter, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 24, 1924, in Humphrey, Ky. A resident for 54 years, she was a homemaker, a volunteer at the Salvation Army and St. Jude's Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Jeffery Smith of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Warm Springs Baptist Church, 2075 W. Warm Springs Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Timothy B. Hawe

Timothy B. Hawe, 49, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 8, 1955, in Sheboygan, Wis. A resident for 49 years, he was an automobile painter.

He is survived by one daughter, Jaymi Figg, his mother, Margaret Hawe, one brother, Jerry Hawe, and one sister, Jenny Hawe, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Patricia Lang

Patricia Lang, 72, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born May 26, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 29 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene J.; and one brother, Robert Max of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to a 4 p.m. service Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Peter M. Locascio

Peter M. Locascio, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1951, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, he was a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his wife, Susan L.; four daughters, Laura Locascio of Chicago, Amanda Locascio and Janine Locascio, both of Las Vegas, and Angela Simler of Detroit; four sons, Jason Bell and Daniel Bell, both of Las Vegas, Patrick Bell of Norfolk, Va., and Matthew Bell of Chicago; three brothers, Gerald Locascio and John Locascio, both of Detroit, and Joseph Locascio of Florida; and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1:30 p.m. until a 3:30 p.m. service Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Jack H. McMahon

Jack H. McMahon, 88, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Colorado Springs, Colo. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired machinist in the aerospace industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; one daughter, Diane Gerken of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert McMahon of Port Hueneme, Calif., and Don McMahon of Ventura, Calif.; one sister, Velma of Virginia; one brother, Jimmy Hawkins of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

John Mette

John Mette, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 30, 1935, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 24 years, he was a financial planner and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Denia; and one brother, Don C. Mette of Jacksonville, Fla.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday in the Church of Religious Science, 1424 E. Harmon Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Sherlean Powell

Sherlean Powell, 44, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 8, 1960, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a food server at a local jail and a member of House of Deliverance.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Glen W.; three sons, Guy Powell, Sherod Jackson and Justin Jackson, two daughters, Kimberly Irick and LaQuiticia Jones Morris, five brothers, Larry Ennis, Curtis Ennis, Willie Ennis, Don Jones and Johnnie Jones, and two sisters, Lois Ennis and Regina Ennis, all of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.

Bessie Ramsey

Bessie Ramsey, 94, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 11, 1910, in Kosciusko, Miss. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired hotel inspectress.

She is survived by two sons, Roosevelt Dodd of Biloxi, Miss., and Harry Dodd of Las Vegas; one daughter, Willie Mae Murray of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Jackie E. Robinson

Jackie E. Robinson, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 13, 1923, in Greenville, S.C. A resident for more than 30 years, he was a retired security officer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Hayes of Niceville, Fla., and Cynthia D. McGee of Aiken, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Carol J. Russi

Carol J. Russi, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 17, 1949, in Englewood, N.J. A resident for seven years, she was a retail cashier.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolynn Pravatta, and one son, Michael Russi, both of Las Vegas; and her mother, Caroline Piovane of Fort Lee, N.J.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

William T. Schultz

William T. Schultz, 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 16, 1941, in Oak Park, Ill. A resident for seven years, he was a retired hobby shop owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Malinda; one daughter, Vicki Adams of Wisconsin; one son, Michael Normington of Illinois; two brothers, George Schultz of Wisconsin and John Morrissey of Illinois; and one grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Arena Turpin

Arena Turpin, 98, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 8, 1905, in Utica, Miss. A resident for 59 years, she was a hotel housekeeper, a member of Ruth Circle Prayer Band, Sunday school and Pride of West Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Alberta Williams and James Heathman, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Jefferson Davis of Mississippi and Jesse James Davis of New York; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Betty J. Wadkins

Betty J. Wadkins, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1940, in Terrell, Texas. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired consultant for a concrete company.

She is survived by her husband, Denny; two daughters, Kim Brown and Kim Loper, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Steve Wadkins and Joe Wadkins, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Roy Springer of Terrell, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Wesley C. Whitehead

Wesley C. Whitehead, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 8, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a hotel security officer.

He is survived by his father, Saul Whitehead of Las Vegas; his mother, Rozener Cooper of California; nine brothers, William Whitehead, Arthur Whitehead and Jesse Whitehead, all of Washington state, Orrillius Whitehead and Jesse Whitehead, both of California, and Leo Whitehead, Earl Whitehead, Charles Whitehead and Lonnie Cooper, all of Nevada; four sisters, Annie Williams and Rozener Cooper, both of California, and Jannie Banks and Zena Whitehead, both of Nevada.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Sunday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mary Hoffman Williams

Mary Hoffman Williams, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A pharmaceutical microbiologist, she was born Jan. 21, 1915, in New Jersey.

She is survived by one daughter, Margarert Williams Jones of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Merle Wollman

Merle Wollman, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 26, 1936, in Cleveland. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Alan; and three sons, Steven, David and Marc, all of Los Angeles.

A scattering of ashes is pending. Neptune Society of Las Vegas, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.
