Augustine 'Gus' Bahleda Sr.

Augustine "Gus" Bahleda Sr., 94, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1909, in Sagamore, Pa. A resident for five years, he was a retired Westinghouse electrical inspector.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gertrude; one son, Augustine "Gus" Bahleda Jr. of Henderson; two brothers, Edward Bahleda and the Rev. Al Bahleda, and one sister, Genevieve Hyatt, all of Pittsburgh.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lorena J. Baker

Lorena J. Baker, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 12, 1949, in San Pedro, Calif. A resident for 31 years, she was a casino porter.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin; one daughter, Tara Guerrero, and one son, Joe Skinner, her mother, Mary Peed, and one sister, Paula Gibson, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Alan Nichols of California; and four grandchildren.

Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Keith Lowell Dalton

Keith Lowell Dalton, 73, of Sandy Valley died Tuesday. He was born Nov. 25, 1930, in Iola, Kan. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired hotel porter and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Therese; two daughters, Sandra Conception of Spokane, Wash., and Susan Dalton of Las Vegas; one son, Keith Richard Dalton of Spokane; three stepsons, Robert Clement of Kansas, Andre Clement of Japan and Richard Clement of Las Vegas; John Dalton of Minnesota and Vince Dalton of California; 26 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Vanessa May Duckworth

Vanessa May Duckworth, died Sunday, her date of birth, in a local hospital.

She is survived by her parents, Randy and Jocelyn Duckworth, and her grandparents, Eulalia Adalim and Eleanor and Stan Kuras, all of Las Vegas.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Ruth Field

Ruth Field, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday. An inspector in the cement industry, she was born March 21, 1922, in California.

She is survived by her husband, Warren; one son, Edward J. Missia of Idaho; one sister, Margaret Mitchell of Texas; and two grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Marleen Friedlander

Marleen Friedlander, 47, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 30, 1956, in San Leandro, Calif. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; two daughters, Nicole Dalton and Amy Friedlander, both of Las Vegas; her mother and stepfather, Mildred and August Hunte of San Leandro, Calif.; two brothers, Larry O'Connor of Sacramento and Steve Hunte of San Leandro; one sister, Ann Ewald of Tupelo, Miss.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

George Griffin

George Griffin, 73, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Forest, Miss. A resident for six years, he was a hotel housekeeping department employee and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by two sisters, Willie Jones of North Las Vegas and Minnie Carley of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home.

Helen Irons

Helen Irons, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Massachusetts. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by three sons, Karl W. Irons, Kenneth D. Irons and John A. Irons; one daughter, Kathryn A. Irons; and eight grandchildren.

Carl F. Larsen

Carl F. Larsen, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 7, 1924, in Minneapolis. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one son, Steven, and one daughter, Kerry Enright, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Sue Kunitz of Minneapolis; one brother, Larry Larsen of Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 1:45 p.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Luther A. Mitchell III

Luther A. Mitchell III, 60, of Las Vegas died Aug. 9 in a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1944, in Monroe, La. A resident for 50 years, he was a painter in the construction industry.

He is survived by one son, Ricardo Crockett of Las Vegas; four sisters, Dorothy Jones of Las Vegas, Sandra Brown and Olivia Brown, both of California, and Brenda Brown Vance of Texas; two brothers, Robert Brown of California and Joe Brown of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Monday Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Esther Nagrone

Esther Nagrone, 70, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born April 7, 1934, in Hilo, Hawaii. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Milton Sr.; two daughters, Valerie Olson of Henderson and Garnet Clemens of Las Vegas; five sons, Guy Nagrone of Covina, Calif., Michael Nagrone of Temple City, Calif., Milton Nagrone Jr. of Florence, Ore., and Neil Nagrone and Darryl Nagrone, both of San Pedro, Calif.; four sisters; four brothers; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests island attire at a 6 p.m. memorial service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Garold 'Wayne' Osborn

Garold "Wayne" Osborn, 77, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. He was born June 21, 1927, in Iowa City, Iowa. A resident for 48 years, he was a retired loan department manager in the banking industry, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Kennel Club.

He is survived by four sisters, Lorraine Myers of Rocklin, Calif., Darline Jones of Rowan, Iowa, Donna Kopish of Fremont, Neb., and Bonnie Wilde of Pottsboro, Texas.

Kelli Staples-Long

Kelli Staples-Long, 22, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 8, 1982, in Las Vegas. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Anton Long and Lajon Long, her mother, Sandra Staples, and her grandfather, Dick Murray, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3:30 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Stacey Lynn Ulrich

Stacey Lynn Ulrich, 41, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 22, 1963, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a retired elementary school art teacher.

She is survived by one sister, Colleen Causey of Henderson.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Marie Christine Valenza

Marie Christine Valenza, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Newark, N.J. A resident for nine years, she was a retired tax collector for the city government.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Joseph.

She is survived by her husband, Natale; and one brother, Anthony Biondi of Las Vegas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Richard C. VanTilburg Sr.

Richard C. VanTilburg Sr., 57, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 5, 1946, in Chicago. A resident for 20 years, he was a bench technician for Golden Gaming.

He is survived by one son, Richard C. VanTilburg of North Las Vegas; one daughter, Cara A. Journigan of Tooele, Utah; his mother, Phyllis VanTilburg of Henderson; one brother, Charles R. VanTilburg, and one sister, Susan L. Weiner, Omaha, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

Joan M. Vinnegar

Joan M. Vinnegar, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 17, 1926, in Indianapolis. A resident for four years, she was in the telecommunications industry.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Cohen and Carter Vinnegar, both of Las Vegas, and Kevin Fahy of Phelan, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Mary Beth Zmijewski, 51, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 11, 1953, in California. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John C. Zmijewski of Las Vegas; and one brother, Steven Riddens.
