Kevin J. Cowger
Kevin J. Cowger, 45, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 24, 1959, in Wayne, Mich. A resident for 16 years, he was a manager in the communications field.
He is survived by his wife, Regina; three daughters, Kristine Cowger and Mary Cowger, both of Texas, and Melia Arnett of Las Vegas; his father, Robert Cowger; his mother, Annetta Sherbert, and one sister, Julie Cowger, both of Texas; and one brother, Steve Cowger of California.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Mildred Friscia
Mildred Friscia, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Chico, Calif. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired auditor in the aerospace industry, a member of Women of St. Joseph and the Towne Club.
She is survived by three sons, David Friscia of Issaquah, Wash., Philip Robbins of St. Helena, Calif., and Matteo Friscia of Las Vegas; three daughters, Angela Ligouri and Stephanie Thoma, both of Las Vegas, and Anna Friscia; one brother, Richard Arney of Durham, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Corrine Olson
Corrine Olson, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 30, 1929, in Dell Rapids, S.D. A resident for 34 years, she was an office clerk in the gaming industry.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Owens of Las Vegas; one son, Jimmy Olson of Rapid City, S.D.; one sister, Arlie Knutson of Custer, S.D.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Jerry L. Shelton
Jerry L. Shelton, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 26, 1938, in Malden, Miss. A resident for nine years, he was a retired civil engineer and Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; two daughters, Debra Shelton-Van Wagner of Gaithersburg, Md., and Jeri Lea Leddon of Springfield, Va.; his mother, Vivian Shelton of Malden, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Ernest Sorenson
Ernest Sorenson, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Bemidji, Minn. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired construction foreman and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandi Sorenson.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy.
A memorial service was scheduled at noon today at the family home. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Aloysius Frank Sosnowy
Aloysius Frank Sosnowy, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 6, 1924, in Pennsylvania. A resident for five years, he was a sanitation engineer for B.F. Goodrich and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; and three daughters, Claire Ciarlo of Norristown, Pa., Maria Hall of Silver Springs and Caroline Engro of Collegeville, Pa.
Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Ned T. Steinruck
Ned T. Steinruck, 88, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1916, in Monrovia, Calif. A resident for 60 years, he was a retired jet engine specialist.
He is survived by one daughter, Gayle Kjenstad of Las Vegas; one brother, Wade Steinruck of Borrego Springs, Calif.; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Wymond Thurmond
Wymond Thurmond, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Tennessee. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired Army chief warrant officer 3, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and had earned two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts and one Air Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son, Pat Thurmond of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and one daughter, Linda Johnstone of Tucson.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Mary 'Nasha' Urban
Mary "Nasha" Urban, 68, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 8, 1935, in Las Vegas, N.M. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired hospital laundry room attendant.
She is survived by one daughter, Dianna Urban, two sons, David Urban and Richard Urban, and two sisters, Margaret Sandoval and Nancy Salazar, all of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
Sharon Winblad
Sharon Winblad, 58, died Aug. 5 in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1945, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for several years, she was an accountant.
She is survived by one son, Erik of Irvine, Calif.
