Letter: WMD skeptics deserved better
Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 | 9:10 a.m.
While reading the Aug. 13 Sun, I saw an article headlined, "Post apologizes for coverage of WMD debate." As a skeptic of the Bush administration's undocumented claim that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, I felt some satisfaction reading that the Washington Post's editors regretted their decision to not place stories about people who questioned the administration's rationale on the paper's front page, while simultaneously doing the opposite with press releases on WMD from the White House.
Then I looked up and shook my head when I saw that the Sun's editors had decided to run this article on page 18A.
