Roman Ruler wins Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. - Roman Ruler overcame a slow start to win by seven lengths the $150,000 Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar on Sunday.
Ridden by Corey Nakatani and carrying 118 pounds, Roman Ruler finished the six furlongs in 1:15 4/5 and paid $3, $2.20 and $2.10.
Actxecutive was second and paid $3.00 and $2.10. Slewsbag paid $2.10 to show.
Wetherly, under Kent Desormeaux, suffered a fractured left foreleg on the far turn and was euthanized.
