Mass Thursday for Carolyn O’Callaghan

The funeral Mass for former Nevada first lady Carolyn Randall O'Callaghan will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road, at Eastern Avenue.
The wife of the late Gov. Mike O'Callaghan, who served in the governor's mansion from 1971 to 1979, died Saturday from apparent complications of heart surgery at Sunrise Hospital. She was 68.
Mike O'Callaghan died in March.
Eulogies for Carolyn O'Callaghan will be given by Landra Reid, wife of Sen. Harry Reid; Jan Smith, a longtime friend of the O'Callaghans who worked for the governor in Southern Nevada; and Lupe Gunderson, wife of former Chief Justice Elmer Miller Gunderson.
Principal celebrant will be the Rev. Gregory W. Gordon, pastor of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Henderson. Concelebrants are the priests of the Diocese of Las Vegas.
Pallbearers will be her son Michael Neil O'Callaghan and grandsons Sean Paul O'Callaghan, Brian J. O'Callaghan Jr., Michael B. Duke, Matthew A. Miele III and Justin R. Miele.
Visitation will be held 2-7 p.m. today followed by a rosary at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be held 1:20 p.m. Thursday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
