Boggs McDonald gives birth to a baby girl
Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004 | 11 a.m.
Clark County Commissioner Lynette Boggs McDonald gave birth Tuesday afternoon to a baby girl.
Rachel Olivia McDonald weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces. Summerlin Hospital reported both are doing well.
Boggs McDonald, a former Las Vegas councilwoman appointed to the county commission in March to replace Commissioner Mark James, who resigned, is in the middle of an election campaign. She has been attending campaign events and county commission meetings throughout the pregnancy.
Last month, she promised campaign volunteers that she would join them in their door-to-door efforts after the birth.
The child is the second for Boggs McDonald and her husband, Steven McDonald. They have an 8-year-old son named Adam.
"Rachel brings great joy to our family," Boggs McDonald said in a press release. "Steven and I are thrilled to have a little girl and Adam is very excited to have a sister."
