Body’s face re-created

A forensic artist has re-created what is thought to be the face of a woman found dumped near Jean in February, and Metro Police are hoping someone might recognize her.
The victim is believed to have been 17 to 21 years old and was between 5-feet and 5-feet 4-inches tall, Lt. Tom Monahan said. She had shoulder length dark brown hair and metal tongue piercing. A small hoop earring was also recovered at the scene.
She likely was killed two to seven years ago, Monahan said.
The body was found Feb. 13 by a hiker and his dog in the desert area east of Jean, about four miles from the highway near the dry lake bed.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or the homicide section at 229-3521.
