Betty Jean Buss Bakken

Betty Jean Buss Bakken, 72, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born March 3, 1932, in East Peoria, Ill. A resident for 44 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Randie Buss and Dale Buss, both of Las Vegas; four daughters, Brenda Pope of Las Vegas, Rhonda DeLaCruz of Arlington, Texas, Cheryl Bode of Biloxi, Miss., and Donna Ragan of Washington, Ill.; one brother, John Klassen of Morton, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Charles Davey 'Bud' Braman

Charles Davey "Bud" Braman, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 18, 1939, in South Bend, Ind. A resident for two years, he retired after 26 years as a Hallmark greeting card designer and was a pioneer in computer-automated font design and typography and was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Joan Biddulph of Las Vegas; and two brothers, William Braman of Libertyville, Ill., and Jack Braman of Las Vegas.

A vigil will be 7 p.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Georgia Elizabeth Cropper

Georgia Elizabeth Cropper, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Colton, Calif. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired cattle ranch owner.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lombardi of Las Vegas and Margaret Ivey of Douglasville, Ga.; four sisters, Amanda Johansen of Keizer, Ore., Rachel Ballinger of Victorville, Calif., Carolyn Leslie of Mesa, Ariz., and Dorothy Hassell of Seattle; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements. A memorial service will be private.

The family suggests donations to the Lied Animal Shelter.

Teresa B. Emerson

Teresa B. Emerson, 86, of West Lafayette, Ind., died Thursday in a West Lafayette care center. She was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Goldfield. A former Las Vegas resident, she retired in 1977 after 10 years as a food server at the Golden Nugget and 30 years overall as a food server.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Emerson.

She is survived by one son, Robert Emerson of Lafayette, Ind.

Milton Frank

Milton Frank, 93, died Thursday. He was born in Port Chester, N.Y. He was a cashier for the Hotel Edison in New York, a credit manager for a hotel and casino in Havana a furniture and appliance company owner in Denver and a former credit executive for the Frontier hotel and then worked until age 90 for several local casinos owned by Mirage Resorts.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann; one stepdaughter, Cindy Kamrin; one stepson, Philip Adelman; one sister, Beatrice Berkowsky; and six step-grandchildren..

Burial will be in Washington state. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, handled arrangements.

Wilbert James Jiles

Wilbert James Jiles, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born June 28, 1935, in Clinton, Ala. A resident for nine years, he was a mixer driver for a construction company and was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice E.; three sons, Kahlyn Jiles, Wilbert Jiles Jr., and James J. Jiles, and one daughter, Kelly Jiles, all of California; his father, Charles W. Giles, and one brother, Victor Carter, all of Washington state; eight sisters, Brenda Carter of Washington, Redell Harviley, Queen Easter Powell and Victoria Moore, all of New York state, Jeanette Price of Massachusetts and Yvonne Iruke and Mildred Esene, both of California; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Alois Joseph Neulinger

Alois Joseph Neulinger, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 12, 1926, in Germany. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired mobile home contractor and a member of the German armed forces.

He is survived by one son, Larry Neulinger of Fresno, Calif.,; one sister, Marianne Strauss of Munich, Germany; and three grandchildren.

Rosella 'Kitty' Ransier

Rosella "Kitty" Ransier, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 21, 1931, in North Dakota. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; two sons, Robert G. Auborn of Las Vegas and Billy Brooks of Portland, Ore.; one daughter, Geri Lou Yoder, and one brother, Howard Dschaak, both of Corbett, Ore.; one sister, Terry Adkins of New Miami, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Phillip Dean Ritter

Phillip Dean Ritter, 68, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born March 9, 1936, in Glendale, Calif. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired grocery store clerk.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; three daughters, Tammy Perez of Henderson, Lori Blankenship of Poulsbo, Wash., and Deanna Ritter of Santa Paula, Calif.; one son, Rick Ritter of Poulsbo; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Keeling of Hampton, Va.; one stepson, Daniel Wynn of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

John Trouby

John Trouby, 85, of Las Vegas died July 19 in a care center. A limo driver and an Army veteran, he was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Turkey.

Cleo Maxine Williamson

Cleo Maxine Williamson, 86, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 24, 1918, in Cleveland, N.D. A resident for 35 years, she retired as an executive secretary from the gaming industry.

She is survived by one sister, Marlys Tyson of San Francisco.
