Had our aggregate national leadership known then what we know today, President Bush would most certainly not have been accorded congressional authorization to unilaterally invade Iraq.
President Bush, however, was quoted in the Los Angeles Times on Aug. 3 as insisting during an Aug. 2 White House press conference that "knowing what I know today, we still would have gone on into Iraq."
So, in other words, he plainly intended to invade Iraq all along.
Shame.
