Vehicle arsonist sought
Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004 | 11:11 a.m.
Arson investigators are looking for the person who set three cars on fire on Diablo Drive and Cameron Street about 3 a.m. today, a Clark County Fire Department spokesman said.
The fires, northeast of Decatur Boulevard and Russell Road intersection, were being investigated this morning, spokesman Bob Leinbach said.
He said he did not know how a vandal set the cars on fire and did not have the cost estimate. The vehicles' make and damage were not available.
Leinbach said investigators do not know if there is a connection between today's vandalism and five vehicles that were set on fire last week between Russell Road, Tropicana Avenue, U.S. 95 and Pecos Road.
On Thursday, a $25,000 pickup truck and four newer automobiles parked in residential areas were set on fire. Investigators said the vehicles appeared to have been chosen at random.
Anyone with information can call Clark County Fire Investigators at (702) 455-7322 or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
