The Las Vegas Hilton began accepting entries Monday for the 2004 "SuperContest," the city's most prestigious football handicapping contest.
Contestants pick five NFL games against the spread each week, competing for a prize pool of $525,000 (based on an estimated 350 entries), according to Jay Kornegay, sports book director at the Hilton.
The top 20 contestants will win cash prizes, with an estimated $210,000 going to the winner. The prize pool is structured so that 100 percent of entry fees are returned.
The entry fee is $1,500.
Those who sign up by Aug. 29 are eligible for a $10,000 bonus that will be awarded to the contestant with the best record over the final three weeks.
The deadline to sign up is 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10.
