Gladiators spread out in search for a new coach

At least eight candidates are under consideration for the Las Vegas Gladiators' vacant head coaching position -- and the list could still grow.
That list, which includes former Arizona head coach Danny White, grew Tuesday to include a handful of head coaches and coordinators with significant arena football experience. Two of the hopefuls even coach the same team.
"The bottom line is we are looking to bring in a quality individual to make us a quality contender in 2005," Gladiators spokesman Adam Grant said. "Anyone we bring in is going to be a quality individual both on the field and in the community."
The Gladiators fired Frank Haege a week ago after his third year leading the team, his final season concluding with a mediocre 8-8 mark. The team hopes to name his replacement before the Sept. 1 start of the free agent signing period.
While attractive candidates may still express their interest to Gladiators general manager Dan Dolby, the group of eight under consideration for in-person interviews includes:
