Fire damages commercial building

A two-alarm fire broke out in the attic of a commercial building on Decatur Boulevard Sunday night.
The attic of the unoccupied building at 1859 N. Decatur Blvd. was being renovated for a church group, but the fire caused "significant damage."
The cost of damage from the fire was undetermined this morning, Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski said. Investigators said the building was "very old," he said.
Fire units responded after a passerby reported seeing sparks from the roof of the one-story building about 9 p.m.
Though the Las Vegas Fire Department originally responded to the fire, investigators later discovered that the parcel of land actually lies within Clark County, Szymanksi said. He said the investigation has been handed over to the Clark County Fire Department.
