Letter: Photos of coffins incite enemies
Friday, April 30, 2004 | 5:13 a.m.
Since 1991, pictures of returning coffins of our brave men and women have been kept out of the public domain. The rule had been obeyed and respected. But the media insisted on their right to see and publish them.
The pictures don't matter to me and probably not to a lot of other Americans either. But our enemies and those terrorists, who have attacked us and are planning attacks against us and our military, are laughing at every flag-draped coffin.
These pictures just encourage and incite those who have no regard for life, only martyrdom and what they think they will get in heaven.
