Doolittle Center hosts health day
Take a Loved One to the Doctor Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St., a temporary health center for the community to speak to physicians and counselors regarding their health care questions, as well as receiving free basic physical examinations.

Animal shelter fund-raiser planned
Clint Holmes will host the second annual Animal Foundation's Best in Show fund-raiser and adoption event at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Orleans Arena.
Between 60 and 70 shelter dogs will compete in four categories: small, medium and large breeds; and the alumni category for dogs that previously were adopted from a shelter.
All shelter dogs will be available for adoption after the main event.
Tickets are $5. Call 284-7777.
Home show set at Cashman Center
The Home Improvement and Decorating Show will be held noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
The event will offer hundreds of home improvement exhibits featuring experts on decorating, remodeling, building landscaping and gardening, plus many seminars and demonstrations.

Rainbow Medical Center
will hold its fifth annual Cinco de Mayo Health Fair and Kids Carnival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 4241 S. Nellis Blvd. The fair will offer free blood pressure screenings for adults and a carnival atmosphere for children, complete with pinatas, free treats, carnival games, face painting and a jumping machine. The American Cancer Society
