Letter: Workers deserve $1 an hour raise

It is appalling that business owners (and anyone else) would deny a minimum-wage worker a dollar-an-hour raise. This would amount to a paltry $40 a week for a full-time worker, which could mean the difference between having food in the house or going hungry.
