Sylvia R. Aguilar
Sylvia R. Aguilar, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Manila, Philippines. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired owner of a meat market.
She is survived by three sons, Danny Aguilar, Rhey Aguilar and Albert Aguilar, all of Manila; and two daughters, Lilette Lacson of Las Vegas and Susan Galvan of Manila.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Geraldine M. Bereny
Geraldine M. Bereny, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Czechoslovakia. A resident for 31 years, she was a change person and hostess in the gaming industry for eight years.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; four daughters, Linda McGuire, Gail Dolar and Mary Reitz, all of Las Vegas, and Gabriela Platz of Augusta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.
Charles Brod
Charles Brod, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 29, 1913, in Chicago. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three daughters, Dionne Kennedy of Las Vegas, Doris Miller of San Diego and Charlene Curtis of Buelton, Calif.; two sons, Charles Brod Jr. of Glendora, Calif., and Carl Brod of Chino, Calif.; two stepsons, Barry Schlegel of Sacramento and Dennis Schlegel of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Beverly Erickson and Clarice Schlegel, both of Las Vegas; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Robert Calabrese
Robert Calabrese, 79, of Las Vegas died April 11 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Yonkers, N.Y. He was a mechanical inspector for hospital equipment and a member of the Yonkers, N.Y., Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by one son, Michael Calabrese of Connecticut; one daughter, Roberta Calabrese of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Norris W. Clarke
Norris W. Clarke, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 12, 1929, in New York. A resident for 15 years, he was an aeronautical engineer, a Navy veteran and a volunteer for a senior program.
He is survived by two sons, Steven Clarke and the Rev. Mark Clarke; two daughters, Anne Clarke and Susan Catherine Clarke; one brother, Charles A. Clarke; one sister, Aileen Clarke Hernandez; and one grandchild.

Nettie Marion Copersmith
Nettie Marion Copersmith, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born June 7, 1917, in Illinois. A resident for 26 years, she was a retail saleswoman.
She is survived by one daughter, Sarita Woodrum of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Dewayne Dowdell
Dewayne Dowdell, 45, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A taxicab driver, he was born May 7, 1958, in Alabama.
He is survived by one sister, Delaine Priest of Winter Springs, Fla.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Alabama. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Anna Mae Duke
Anna Mae Duke, 79, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. A resident for 40 years, she was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Kansas City, Kan.
She is survived by her husband, Beryl; five sons, Robin Duke of Las Vegas, Bruce Duke of Henderson and Terry Duke, Ralph Duke and Allon Duke, all of Pahrump; and one sister, Betty Friday of Las Vegas.
Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Gladys Makerewich
Gladys Makerewich, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Lycene, Kan. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Nick; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Henry A. Schepers
Henry A. Schepers, 87, of North Las Vegas died Feb. 13 in North Las Vegas. A steel worker, he was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Baltimore.
He is survived by one stepdaughter, Nellie Johnson of Henderson.
