Volunteers invited to lake cleanup
An Earth Day cleanup sponsored by Forever Resorts and KWNR 95.5-FM will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lake Mead.
Volunteers will be shuttled to various locations around the lake on Forever Resorts Houseboats. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Callville Bay Marina, but volunteers can come any time between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wear Safe and comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. Gloves will be provided.
Several raffle prizes will be offered, including Black Canyon River Raft Trips and a grand prize of a houseboat vacation.
Volunteers will be treated to a free barbecue at 2 p.m. Those not able to work at the cleanup can still participate in the barbecue and afternoon events with a $10 donation to the Outside Las Vegas Foundation.

Center centers to host blood drive
To help ensure a continuous local blood supply, Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is joining United Blood Services to host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at its northwest location, 2650 N. Tenaya Way, Suite 208.
Blockbuster Video and Starbucks gift cards will be available to those who attend.

A Day with the Experts on Orchids
will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Plant World, 5311 W. Charleston Blvd. There will be planting and potting demonstrations provided by members of the Greater Las Vegas Orchid Society. Call Tony Billitere at 870-9639.

A Genealogy Series, the Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society and the Paseo Verde Library will present "Court Records," a program that will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson. To reserve a seat, call 492-6593.
Spring Mountain Ranch State Park
