Adam Candee
High school: Silverado ('03)
Where she is now: Villanova
Class: Freshman
Sport: Softball
Currently: Koenig wasted no time in making an impact at Villanova. Koenig has started 30 of 41 games for the Wildcats as a catcher. Her .282 average (20-for-71) ranks third on the team, as does her .386 on-base percentage. She also owns another unusual distinction -- Koenig has been hit by five pitches to lead the team. The Wildcats are 25-16, including a 9-3 mark in Big East Conference play.
Looking back: Last season's Sunrise Region Player of the Year, Koenig anchored the traditionally strong Silverado program to another strong year. The Skyhawks won their ninth consecutive Sunrise Region championship behind the strong play of Koenig and a handful of other core players. Koenig earned first-team All State honors at designated hitter in 2003 and lettered all four years at Silverado.
