Letter: War in Iraq was unnecesary
Wednesday, April 14, 2004 | 8:29 a.m.
It just might alarm a lot of people if we have to put up with four more years of George W. Bush. The most tragic and grievous events have occurred in Iraq. That country has turned into a bloodbath. Will it eventually escalate into a holy war?
There are many people who are starting to question why we had to go over to Iraq and start a war. I feel that there was no basis or reason why we had to go to war. It seems like it was a mistake to go over to Iraq, like in the case of the Vietnam War, which was not even a necessary war.
The current Iraqi uprising could turn into a worldwide catastrophe. When we first went over there, bombing Iraq cities, we were adding fuel to the flame. The terrorists are taking advantage of the situation, killing servicemen and civilians. If only this killing would stop.
