Children's Festival on tap Saturday
The 11th annual Clark County Children's Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Winchester Cultural Center and Park, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.
The festival combines recreational and cultural activities to entertain and educate children of all ages. The outdoor stage will feature performances by the groups SUGAR, the African Drum Ensemble, the Star Catchers and Showbiz Kids.
Other activities include indoor craft workshops and outdoor craft areas as well as carnival-style games and prizes (while supplies last).
Children will be offered a free inflatable slide, bounce houses, an obstacle course, an air-filled train from Kidzone Interactive and Action Jump.

A skin care/make-up workshop
will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive. Learn how to take care of and protect your skin, apply moisturizers and make-up for a glamorous look, and learn about anti-aging products. Call 633-1070 for reservations.
The Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter
and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Collegiate Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority will celebrate Founder's Day at noon Saturday at the Peccole Ranch Community Association Clubhouse, 9501 Red Hills Road. The event will include a luncheon. All area Alpha Xi Delta alumnae as well as all active chapter members are invited to attend. For reservations, call 269-5706.
