Charles B. Armstrong

Charles B. Armstrong, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 8, 1921, in Detroit. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired chemical plant manager and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; and one daughter, Jane Armstrong.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

William Harold Barasch

William Harold Barasch, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A correctional officer, he was born June 27, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife, Jo; two daughters, Kari Sliva of Rapid City, S.D., and Pam Blankership of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two sons, Kevin Eisenbraun and Nathan Eisenbraun, both of Rapid City; his mother, Ethel Barasch of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Robert Calabrese

Robert Calabrese, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A mechanical inspector, he was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Yonkers, N.Y.

He is survived by one daughter, Roberta Calabrese.

Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Joseph Cella

Joseph Cella, 63, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 13, 1940, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; one daughter, Cynthia Cella of Henderson; one son, Paul Cella, and one brother, Ralph Cella, both of New York City; two sisters, Marion Wallin and Vera DiMascio, both of Brooklyn; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Betty Lou Fleming

Betty Lou Fleming, 57, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 13, 1946, in Newellton, La. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; two sons, Stanley Nelson of Aurora, Colo., and Ernest Fleming of Las Vegas; three daughters, Brenda Fleming, Joyce Fleming and Nancy Fleming, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Martha Gonzaque of Henderson and Maggie Blocker of Jackson, Miss.; and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Paul 'Eddie' Frazier

Paul "Eddie" Frazier, 59, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born March 17, 1945, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired automobile factory worker and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandy Schultz of Indianapolis and Donna Frazier of Cookeville, Tenn.; one son, Robert Allen Frazier of Greenfield, Ind.; two brothers, Ernie Frazier of Las Vegas and Richard Frazier; two sisters, Karen and Arlene Frazier; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Barbara Ann Harris

Barbara Ann Harris, 56, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. An accountant at Lady Luck, she was born Aug. 26, 1947, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, Wilber; one daughter, Michelle Patton, and one brother, Gregory Green, both of Las Vegas; four sisters, Dorothy Baker of Oakland, Calif., and Betty Green, Janet Green and Linda Banks, all of Las Vegas; and two grandsons.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Sam Harris

Sam Harris, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Little Rock, Ark. A resident for four years, he was a retired entrepreneur in the trucking industry.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; one daughter, Mildred M. King of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Otis D. Hines

Otis D. Hines, 53, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Reno. He was born May 19, 1950, in Arkansas. A resident for 47 years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by two brothers, Calvin Hines and James Hines, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Ann Hines-Brown of Memphis, Tenn.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Henry M. Ishihara

Henry M. Ishihara, 71, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A retired airport maintenance worker for the state of Hawaii, he was born May 1, 1932, in Honolulu.

He is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Ishii-Urner; and one son, Norman Ishii.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Hawaii. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Douglas MacLachlan

Douglas MacLachlan, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was born April 10, 1963, in Massachusetts. A resident for 14 years, he was a concrete truck driver and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his parents, Wilton "Mac" and Janet MacLachlan of New Hampshire; and four sisters, Diane, Gail, Judy and Laurie.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until a 3 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Troy W. 'Dubbie' Patterson Jr.

Troy W. "Dubbie" Patterson Jr., 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 23, 1944, in San Angelo, Texas. A resident for 35 years, he was a dealer, a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; one daughter, Laura L. Patterson-Dimitt, and one son, Michael R. Patterson, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Lellah L. Patterson-Turn, and one sister, Patricia Whitacre, both of Odessa, Texas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Frank F. Pena Jr.

Frank F. Pena Jr., 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Texas. A resident for many years, he was a driver for a bus company and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Loretta Hirsch of Las Vegas; three brothers, Richard Pena, Philip Pena and Donald Pena, and one sister, Norma Garner, all of Texas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. Masonic service in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Charles Salton

Charles Salton, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 19, 1922, in Morristown, N.J. A resident for 76 years, he was a retired income tax enrollment agent, a member of the Masons and a past board member and longest continuous member of Temple Beth Sholom.

He is survived by one sister, Adele Baratz of Las Vegas; one niece, Terry Berk of Greenbrae, Calif.; one nephew, Dr. Alan Baratz of Los Altos Hills, Calif.; one grandnephew; and three grandnieces.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Joseph Stephen Somers

Joseph Stephen Somers, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 29, 1924, in Germany. A resident for 16 years, he was a public accountant, an Army veteran, a member of the Masons Home Lodge and was past patron of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam; one son, David; one daughter, Janet; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Nelson Ortiz Jr. Soto

Nelson Ortiz Jr. Soto, 27, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 23, 1977, in New York City. A resident for eight years, he was a computer engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; one son, Joshua Ortiz and Shelby Ortiz, both of Las Vegas; and his father, Nelson Ortiz Sr. of Arroyo, Puerto Rico.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in College Park Baptist Church, 2101 E. Owens Ave., North Las Vegas.

Robert D. Stewart

Robert D. Stewart, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A security officer, he was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Borger, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Darcus; two stepsons, Roy A. Mathews of Oklahoma and Tim G. Mathews of Nevada; one brother, Bart Stewart of California; and one sister, Jackie Fraley of Texas.

Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Lydia Toro

Lydia Toro, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 3, 1917, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired teacher and a member of the United Federation of Teachers.

She is survived by one daughter, Agnes Smith, and one son, Fernando Luis Toro, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Edel Aquino of Puerto Rico and Aurea Duran and Aurori Quintana, both of Ponce; one brother, William Duran of Ponce; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will follow at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Carmen O. Williams

Carmen O. Williams, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Nogales, Ariz. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired state government claims processor.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews of Texas, Arizona and California; and one grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
