Letter: Christensen must admit his mistake

WEEKEND EDITION
April 10 - 11, 2004
Reading Assemblyman Chad Christensen's responses to the secretary of state's investigation report into his campaign finances, I am struck by his complete inability to take responsibility for his actions.
Over the last few weeks and months, Christensen has blamed this mess he created on various staffers, his "political enemies" and the media. But it seems clear to me that if he had just been forthcoming with his receipts earlier, he could have avoided this entire investigation.
I am sick of seeing politicians blame their problems on others. It is time for Christensen to say that he made a mistake and is willing to explain it and fix it. That is the kind of leadership we need in Carson City. Until he is willing to take that step, I cannot give him my vote.
