NEW YORK:
John Youngdahl, the former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. economist who tipped off the firm's traders about the demise of the 30-year Treasury bond two years ago, today was sentenced to 33 months in prison for insider trading.
RENO:
Sierra Pacific Power Co. of Reno has reached a negotiated settlement on most issues in its $88 million general rate increase request. The sister company of Nevada Power Co. will receive at least $40 million in annual rate increases, and hearings continued today into the requested recovery of $95 million for costs associated with the firm's Pinion Pine power plant.
