Woman arrested in fatal shooting

Henderson Police arrested a 45-year-old woman this morning in the death of her boyfriend in their home near Sunset Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard.

Tanja Markese called police just after 11 p.m. Wednesday and said her boyfriend had been shot. Police arrived at their home in the 1800 block of Avacado Court and found the man dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

The man's name was not released this morning.

It's not clear if the couple had a history of domestic violence. Police had not been to the home before, police spokesman Keith Paul said.

Markese was being held without bail the Henderson Detention Center on a murder charge.

Police were not releasing a motive for the shooting this morning.
