A 30-year-old man broke into a neighbor's house armed with a shotgun and abducted his wife and child, who were hiding there Wednesday night, North Las Vegas Police said.
The man's wife and their 6-year-old child managed to escape, but Roberto Dominguez is still at large this morning.
Police were called to a home on Oak Island Drive near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Alexander Road just after 8 p.m. Wednesday to investigate a domestic disturbance.
During the fight, Dominguez's wife grabbed their child and ran to a neighbor's house. Dominguez forced his way into the neighbor's house with a shotgun, abducted his wife and child and fled in the family car.
The woman and her child later jumped from the vehicle and went to a stranger's house on Greenbriar Townhouse Way, near Boulder Highway and Sandhill Road, for help. The woman had the shotgun with her, police said.
She was taken to a hospital for injuries. The specifics of those injuries were not immediately available. The child was apparently not hurt, police said.
Police are searching for Dominguez.
He is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 5 inches and 160 pounds with a bald head. He has the following tattoos: a marijuana plant on his shoulder; two happy faces on his left arm and "Celia" on his right arm.
Anyone with information should call North Las Vegas Police at 633-9111.
