Louis J. Berberet
Louis J. Berberet, 74, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired general manager for a liquor distributor, a Korean War Army veteran, a member of the American Baseball Players Association a board member of the Boys' Club.
He is survived by his wife, Lila F.; three daughters, Deborah L. Starmer, Mary C. Kato and Lori J. Berberet, and one son, Thomas E. Berberet, all of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Britt B. Rodriguez of Valencia, Calif., and Erika N. Heaton of Kenmore, Wash.; one sister, Ethel Taylor of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Robert Berberet of Lakewood, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lavinia Julia Booton
Lavinia Julia Booton, 64, of Las Vegas, died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 10, 1940. A resident for nine years, she was a retired court transcriber.
She is survived by four daughters, Desiree Stuart-Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ann F. Stuart Las Vegas, Kirstine Mary Stuart of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Nicole Emma Stuart of Norwalk, Calif.; two brothers, Dan Davenport of Sydney, Australia, and John Davenport of Auckland, New Zealand; three sisters, Jean Costello of Lami, Fiji Islands, Emma Lestro of Norwalk and Ann Hamilton of Australia; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Azetta Dyson
Azetta Dyson, 81, of Las Vegas, died Thursday in North Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Kentucky.
She is survived by one daughter, Azetta Johnson of North Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Edy Earley
Edy Earley, 85, of Las Vegas, died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 20, 1919, in Burbank, Calif. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired model in the motion picture industry.
She is survived by one sister, Phyllis E. Kirby of Las Vegas.

Lea E. Essex
Lea E. Essex, 41, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A telemarketer, he was born April 16, 1962, in Illinois.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara L. Essex, and his father, Tommie L. Taylor, both of Chicago.

Germaine Teresa Glendinning
Germaine Teresa Glendinning, 71, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1932, in Washington state. A resident for 48 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Glendinning and William Glendinning; four daughters, Theresa M. Johnson, Gay Russell, Debbie Dalton and Jeri Monje; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Judith A. Grodman
Judith A. Grodman, 69, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 25, 1935, in Detroit. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; two sons, Dennis M. Grodman and Jeffrey A. Grodman, both of Henderson; and one grandchild.

DeWayne 'Sonny' Habedank
DeWayne "Sonny" Habedank, 63, of North Las Vegas, died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 22, 1941, in Ada, Minn. A resident for five years, he was a retired telephone technician and an Army veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Shelley Snyder of North Las Vegas, Shawn Habedank of Salem, Ore., and Shannon Ulichney of Pensacola, Fla.; his mother, Elsie Roach of North Las Vegas; one sister, Dawn Jackson of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

DeWitt Jones
DeWitt Jones, 80, of Las Vegas, died Feb. 14 in Las Vegas. He was born April 22, 1923, in Mississippi. A resident for many years, he was a retired machinist and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Frieda Newsome; three sons, Tobey Jones of Schaumburg, Ill., DeWitt Jones Jr. of Chicago and Sean Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four daughters, Deborah Graham of Dublin, Calif., and April Baxter, Patricia Jones and Cathy Jones, all of Chicago.
Graveside services will be at 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Loren E. Leach
Loren E. Leach, 65, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 31, 1938, in Medford, Ore. A resident for 27 years, he was a federal government security officer and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; one daughter, Trina Stout of Gold Hill, Ore.; one son, Michael Leach of Carson City; one sister, Adrianne Norris of Newberg, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Norbert 'Burt' Malin
Norbert "Burt" Malin, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 31 in Chicago. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired museum tour guide and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Melaine Pelchat of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one sister, Marie Stetina of Chicago; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Shirley A. Nordin
Shirley A. Nordin, 59, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 15, 1944, in Santa Ana, Calif. A resident for 23 years, she was a casino waitress and a member of the Culinary Union.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; three children; and five grandchildren.

Jeanette T. Nowak
Jeanette T. Nowak, 68, of Las Vegas, died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 20, 1935, in Detroit. A resident for nine years, she retired as a saleswoman at the Mirage.
She is survived by her husband, Edward J.; four sons, Kevin J. Nowak and Paul D. Nowak, both of Las Vegas, and Ricky D. Nowak and Jeffrey E. Nowak, both of Washington, Mich.; one daughter, Lynette M. Hornstein of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

John B. O'Lexey
John B. O'Lexey, 77, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 13, 1926, in Kentucky. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he owned an insurance company and was a Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by one son, John O'Lexey; one daughter, Nancy Barnes; one sister, Betty O. Buxton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Andrew M. Sinay
Andrew M. Sinay, 89, of Henderson, died Monday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 14, 1914, in Cannonsburg, Pa. A resident for five years, he was a retired singer, a member of Anthem Authors Club and Slovak Catholic Sokols.
He is survived by his wife, Ann M.; four sons, Gary Sinay of San Diego, Richard Sinay of Irvine, Calif., Thomas Sinay of Palm Desert, Calif., and Andrew Sinay Jr. of Widomar, Calif.; two daughters, Rosemary Watkins and Diane Sinay, both of Henderson; two sisters, Mary Shull of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., and Dorothy Klish of Canton, Ohio; one brother, Joe Sinay of Canton; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Brian A. Sullivan
Brian A. Sullivan, 24, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday. He was born Oct. 10, 1979, in Henderson. He was a dispatcher for a construction company and served an LDS Church mission in Raleigh, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Misti; his parents, Lori J. and Clayton A. Sullivan of Las Vegas; one brother, Daniel Sullivan of Odessa, Texas; and two sisters, Amy Marie Sullivan and Jamie Lynn Sullivan, both of Giddings, Texas.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Red Rock Stake Center, 10550 W. Alta Drive. Burial will be in Utah.
Herbert Edward Williams
Herbert Edward Williams, 84, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A service station owner, he was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; and two daughters, Donna Williams of Oklahoma City and Sheron Curuth of Las Vegas.
