Woman allegedly kills son, self

A 69-year-old Henderson woman apparently shot and killed her son, then fatally shot herself Tuesday morning in their mobile home in the 2000 block of Magic Way, just off Boulder Highway near U.S. 95.

Henderson Police said the woman allegedly killed her son, then dialed 911 before shooting herself. A dispatcher did not hear any shots when answering the call.

Investigators learned the woman was the caregiver for her son, who was mentally challenged and in poor health. The woman was also in failing health, police said. Police found a suicide note in the home.

The names of the woman and her son were not released this morning.
