Residents can enter landscape contest
The Southern Nevada Water Authority is accepting applications for its 2004 Landscape Awards. Homeowners and professional landscapers are invited to enter the free competition.
Applications are available online at snwa.com or by calling the Conservation Helpline at 258-SAVE (7283).
A panel of local garden and landscape experts will judge entries based on water-efficiency, functionality and beauty. Categories include both landscape design and maintenance.
To enter, send in an application with four or five color photos highlighting the landscape design and water-smart features. Entries can be submitted online or by mail. All projects must be within the SNWA's service area of Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Laughlin and unincorporated Clark County.
Applications are due April 30. Winners of the 2004 awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in July.
