Melvin C. Bowles

Melvin C. Bowles, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 14, 1921, in Jewel City, Kan. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired mining specialist and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by one son, Ron Bowles; five brothers; two grandsons, Gary and Greg, and one great-grandson, John H. Ross, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Willard Tharp Cassell Jr.

Willard Tharp Cassell Jr., 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A body shop owner, he was born June 3, 1942, in South Gate, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; one son, Willard T. Cassel IV of Iraq; one daughter, Lorraine Rittegers of Washington state; one sister, Harriet Casady of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Melvin John Colosanti

Melvin John Colosanti, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born March 25, 1939, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired press operator in the automotive industry and a member of the United Auto Workers.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Susan; one son, Roy Colosanti of Los Alamitos, Calif.; one sister, Carol Harrison of Alden, N.Y.; two brothers, John Colosanti of Leroy, N.Y., and Pat Colosanti of Depew, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Doris Veronica Critser

Doris Veronica Critser, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born in April 4, 1914, in Yorkshire, England. A resident for two years, she was a manager of a senior center and belonged to numerous civic organizations.

She is survived by one son, Bob Dawson; one daughter, Joyce Veronica; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private services.

Eugene Davis

Eugene Davis, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Ely. A carpenter supervisor, he was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Illinois.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; and one daughter, Carol Avery of Henderson.

Jack O. Eichelberger

Jack O. Eichelberger, 80, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Woodward, Okla. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired railroad switch foreman.

He is survived by his wife, Joy B.; one daughter, Nan Connolly of Ontario, Calif.; one son, Jack Guy Eichelberger of Florence, Ore.; one sister, Alberta Vickerman of Victor, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private services.

Eleanor Frickman

Eleanor Frickman, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 9, 1926, in California. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired PBX operator for a local casino.

She is survived by four sons, Robert Anderson, Jerry Jones, Jeff Jones and Rick Jones.

Gavin Austin Johnson

Gavin Austin Johnson, 27, of Las Vegas died March 22 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 14, 1976, in Las Vegas. He was a landscaper.

He is survived by his wife, Tiffany N. Foster-Johnson; three daughters, Gavionna Johnson, Ayrielle Johnson and Inndia Johnson, and one son, Gavin Austin Johnson Jr., all of Las Vegas; his father, Basil Johnson of Palm Springs, Calif.; his mother, Shirley Smith of Las Vegas; three brothers, Anthony Smith and Michael Smith, both of Las Vegas, and Charlie Smith of Texas; three brothers, Monique Johnson-Sturdivant, Erika Johnson and Alicia Smith, all of Las Vegas; and his two grandmothers, Nelly Casey of Arizona and Roberta Williams of Monroe, La.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ann Maloney

Ann Maloney, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 12, 1947, in Port of Spain-Trinidad, and worked in medical records.

She is survived by three brothers, Harold Maloney and Rupert Maloney, both of California, and Peter Maloney of Virginia; and two sisters, Margaret Anthony of Florida and Merle Maloney of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Michael B. Maples

Michael B. Maples, 56, of Blue Diamond died Tuesday in Blue Diamond. He was born Jan. 13, 1948, in Tennessee. A resident for 11 years, he was a fleet mechanic for the water district and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Susan O.; and one son, Rusty Maples of Blue Diamond.

Erica Mendoza

Erica Mendoza, 14, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A student, she was born Aug. 2, 1989.

She is survived by her mother, Sebastiana, her stepfather, Rito Zamora, five sisters, Irma Mendoza, Jessica Mendoza, Rebecca Mendoza, Vanessa Zamora and Elizabeth Zamora, and three brothers, Miguel Zamora, Omar Zamora and Rocky J. Mendoza, all of Las Vegas; and her two grandmothers, Sirenia Mendoza and Maria Mendoza, both of Mexico.

Visitation is scheduled noon Sunday at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Seymour Merrin

Seymour Merrin, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 1, 1923, in New York City. He was a maitre d'.

He is survived by one son, Jack Merrin of Henderson.

James 'Bumper' Miller

James "Bumper" Miller, 55, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 24, 1948, in California. A resident for 42 years, he was a journeyman plumber, a Navy veteran, a member of the JFK Vietnam Vets, a retired member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 525 and was a 1966 Western High School graduate.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his parents, Cy and Kay; one son, Rick; one daughter, Rhonda; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Community Church, 2900 N. Torrey Pines Drive. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jean V. Millspaugh

Jean V. Millspaugh, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1926, in Salisbury, England. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired secretary and a former member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Brown of Henderson; one sister, Olive Hoskins, and one brother, Dennis Cable of Salisbury; and one granddaughter.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Bernadine L. Niles

Bernadine L. Niles, 73, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Ambridge, Pa. A resident for five years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Brown of Henderson.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Bobbie Jean Thompson

Bobbie Jean Thompson, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for seven years, she was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Fort Smith, Ark.

She is survived by her husband, Warren F.; four daughters, Dorothy Outley and Yvonne Keys, both of Los Angeles, Sandra Miller of Las Vegas and Wanda Adams of Fort Smith, Ark.; two sons, Warren Thompson Jr. of Los Angeles and Wayne Thompson of Las Vegas; three brothers, Thomas Collier of Flint, Mich., and Herbert Collier and Frederick Collier, both of Los Angeles; two sisters, Kay Spires of Los Angeles and Janice Gordon of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Church of Christ, Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue.

George Tsukamoto

George Tsukamoto, 49, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 24, 1954, in Los Angeles. A resident for 15 years, he owned a local gun shop.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his parents, Ben and Karen Tsukamoto of California; three daughters, Sarah Stromberg of Denver and Rebekah Soong and Maggie Overmoen, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Linda Tsukamoto and Paula Tsukamoto, both of Los Angeles.

Mass will be celebrated 4 p.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Kyle Vargas, 16, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 26, 1988, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, Lorena Russell, his stepfather, Jose Ochoa, and his grandparents, Diega and Julio Vargas, all of Las Vegas; and his step-grandparents, Elva and Lalo Ochoa of North Las Vegas.

Michael Lee Wilkie

Michael Lee Wilkie, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A painter, he was born Oct. 28, 1957, in Richmond, Ind.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee; two daughters, Michelle Wilkie and Mikayla Wilkie, and his mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Lou Steblay, all of Las Vegas; his father, Jack Wilkie of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and one brother, Jeff Wilkie of Honolulu.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Lorenzi LDS Chapel, 221 S. Lorenzi St. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Dorothy Williams

Dorothy Williams, 58, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1945, in Delhi, La. A resident for 35 years, she was a casino change person.

She is survived by one daughter, Doris Ann; two sons, Willie Williams III and Michael Williams, both of Las Vegas; four sisters, Lucy Jones of Monroe, La., Willie May Burrell and Eddie D. Johnson, both of Seattle, and Bobby Armstrong of Las Vegas; three brothers, John Luther King and Paul King, both of Oakland, Calif., and Roosevelt King of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Joseph J. Wilson

Joseph J. Wilson, 20, of Las Vegas died Monday. He was born Aug. 29, 1983, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was a telemarketing salesman.

He is survived by his parents, Shirley and Bruce Wilson of Elko; one brother, Mike Wilson of Kalispell, Mont.; one sister, Trudy Wilson of Coeur d'Alene; and his grandparents, Peter and Luella Wilson of Pinehurst, Idaho.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
