UMC offering childhood shots
The Family Resource Center at University Medical Center, 1120 Shadow Lane, is offering childhood immunizations from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
A representative from the Clark County Health District will administer the immunizations for a $15 fee, and all recommended childhood shots are available.
Children should receive the following shots before 12 months of age: Dtap (diptheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis), IPV (polio), MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), HIB (Haemophilus influenzae type b), Hepatitis B, Chickenpox (varicella), and PCV7 (prevnar pneumococcal conjugate). Call 383-7058.
Deadline nears for neon contest
The deadline to enter the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society's Neon Art Contest is 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The museum invites all Las Vegas area artists to enter a "neon" art piece in the contest and having it displayed at the museum alongside the Neon Unplugged: Signs from the Boneyard exhibit.
Pieces entered in the competition will be exhibited in the museum Nov. 1-Jan. 18.
