Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 | 9:24 a.m.

Las Vegas' government access television channel, KCLV Cox cable Channel 2, received two national awards for excellence in programming at the 18th annual awards ceremony of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.

KCLV won second place for public affairs programming for "Las Vegas Town Hall Live," which is hosted by Mayor Oscar Goodman and Deputy City Manager Betsy Fretwell.

The city tied for third place in the category of government access station website. The website (www.kclv.tv.) gives residents the ability to watch Channel 2 live on the Internet, and also use the "Video on Demand" feature, which gives users the ability to watch KCLV's latest productions.

NATOA is an organization made up of government television programmers and regulators from around the nation.
