Walk for Life benefits women's med centers
The 16th annual Walk for Life to benefit the Women's Resource Medical Centers of Southern Nevada will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Neighborhood Church, 207 W. Basic Road, Henderson.
Participants will enjoy a free lunch and entertainment.
The Women's Resource Medical Centers have helped people by providing critical services and programs to those who are experiencing pregnancy-related crises. Call 366-1247.
Culinary college holds open house
Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Las Vegas, a culinary arts institute with Parisian roots, is celebrating the opening of its first Nevada location with an open house 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the college, 1451 Center Crossing in Summerlin, behind the Bank of America on Town Center Drive.
Guests will be able to tour the facility, sample hors d'oeuvres and meet instructors, administrators and students.
The school offers a 15-month hands-on training program that instructs students in more than 450 culinary proficiencies. Call 933-7777.
NLV Library to host seminar
The North Las Vegas Library will hold a seminar by Gilda Martin del Campo at 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at the library, 2300 Civic Center Drive. The seminars by Martin del Campo, a spiritual counselor, shows attendees how to look back at past and previous family experiences to be able to release them.
Martin del Campo offers the program in Spanish. Call 633-1070.
Financial Coalition to host meeting
The Urban Financial Services Coalition, formerly the Southern Nevada Urban Bankers, is holding a membership drive and opportunity to learn more about the coalition 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at M&M Soul Food restaurant, 4486 S. Jones Blvd.
The drive will be part of a president's luncheon, featuring past presidents of the grouop and the National Oratorical Contest winner of 1995.
