Moncrief seeking community liaison

Las Vegas Councilwoman Janet Moncrief is looking for a community liaison for her office after losing one of her two such staff members last week.
Betty Schulte, who handled Ward 1 neighborhood issues for the councilwoman, resigned Friday, Moncrief said.
"I'm looking within City Hall," Moncrief said Thursday. "I want someone with a lot of years service, someone community oriented." She said neighborhood issues range from responding to graffiti to junked cars.
When asked if she was worried about the perception that hiring from within City Hall means the position was picked by the mayor, she said, "Not at all. The only thing I'm worried about with the liaison is that they are community oriented."
