Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) creel census clerks said that boaters were very successful fishing throughout the entire upper basin of the lake.
Overton Beach anglers using top water lures landed largemouth bass that weighed in at 1-2 pounds.
Boaters fishing around Stewarts Point and Ann Margaret Cove reported that fishing was sporadic; however, a few 16-inch stripers were taken. Anchovies were landing the fish.
One boater that fished near the islands and close to shore at Callville and Echo Bay reported very good success for small stripers and largemouth bass. The stripers measured 12-14 inches and the bass weighed 1-2 pounds. Crank bait was landing the fish.
Top water action in the lower basin continued to be slow. A few stripers that ranged from 14-16 inches were creeled. Boaters reported threadfin shad along the shoreline at north Saddle Cove, but the stripers were not feeding on the baitfish.
A catfish that weighed 8 pounds was also taken using anchovies.
Willow Beach anglers reported good success for smaller stripers. Larger stripers that weighed in at 18, 19, and 22 pounds were taken with AC Plugs and anchovies.
