Back to School Jam set Saturday
Culture Shock Las Vegas, a nonprofit, hip hop dance company and youth outreach program, will hold its annual Back to School Jam, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Brinley Community School, 6150 Smoke Ranch Road.
The event was created with the goal of increasing the awareness of hip hop/street dance as a form of exercise among children, ages 7-17, and to kick-off the new school year with messages that provide them with alternatives to gangs, drugs and other negative activities.
Participants of the Back-to-School Jam will experience a playful, calorie-burning set of moves based on street dance and music of today's pop culture. Call 281-7588.
Kabbalah Centre plans open house
Kabbalah Centre Fall-Winter Open House will be held from noon to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at 3824 S. Jones Blvd., Suite B.
The event is planned to introduce newcomers to the concepts of Kabbalah, including future classes for the children, and will include previews from upcoming courses such as: The Power of Kabbalah, 12 Steps to Lasting Love, the Zohar class, and the basics in reincarnation.

Health and Safety Day is scheduled
Family Health and Safety Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at MountainView Hospital, 3100 N. Tenaya Way.
The event will offer free services such as car seat checks; tours of actual AMR ambulance; child fingerprinting; a bike rodeo; health screenings, cholesterol screening; free entertainment; and information on nutrition, heart disease, safe communities, pedestrian safety, and more.
