Motorcyclist dies in crash
A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday in a crash at Warm Springs Road and La Cienega Street, Metro Police said.
Marshall Godron of Henderson was eastbound Warm Springs at 4:10 p.m. when his 1992 Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a westbound 2000 Chevrolet Prizm, police said.
The driver of the Prizm, Raquel Ready, 31, of Las Vegas, apparently failed to yield to the motorcycle, police said.
Godron was taken to University Medical Center, but died during surgery, police said.
Slain 19-year-old man identified
A man found shot to death Sept. 9 near U.S. 95 and the Torrey Pines overpass has been identified as Aaron Church, 19, of Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner's office said.
Metro Police said Church was visiting friends nearby and was seen driving away with a man in his car. Moments later, Church was found dead on Hinkle Street near Dinning Avenue.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 of Metro's homicide unit at 229-3521.
LV man pleads guilty in DUI
A Las Vegas man charged with running over and killing a construction worker while driving with prescription drugs in his system pleaded guilty to a DUI charge Monday in District Court.
Troy Stephen Johnson, 37, faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced before District Judge Nancy Saitta on Nov. 5.
Johnson pleaded guilty to a single count of DUI causing death and substantial bodily harm in the May 2002 collision that killed 42-year-old Lezlee Johnson and injured Elizabeth Clark, 32. Lezlee Johnson is not related to the defendant.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Gary Booker said the defendant was traveling southbound on Jones Boulevard in a Ford Ranger when he caused a five-vehicle pile-up that killed Lezlee Johnson, who was directing traffic at a construction site.
