Walk for Diabetes scheduled Saturday
Weight Watchers Las Vegas has signed on to sponsor the second annual America's Walk for Diabetes scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Wet 'n Wild.
The event is expected to raise $30,000 for research to find a cure diabetes.

Mediators planning event Thursday
As part of the Nevada Mediation Week, Mediators of Southern Nevada Inc. will celebrate Thursday at 6 p.m. Thursday with a dinner at Texas Station and will recognize contributions made by members of the community to the Alternative Dispute Resolution process.
Richard Morgan, dean of the William S. Boyd School of Law, will be the featured speaker.

Celebrities involved in cycle benefit
As a prelude to the Great American Motorcycle Experience, Boyd Gaming is sponsoring the Great American Charity Ride featuring sports and entertainment celebrities to benefit the Speedway Children's Charities and the Southern Nevada Police Toy Drive.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, beginning at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, heading to Mount Charleston and back to the Stardust hotel. For those that ride and those that don't, Mickey Jones, actor and musician and prominent biker in movies and television, is also hosting a special, pre-release screening of his new Paramount movie, "The Fighting Temptations." The film screening will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Sam's Town.
The first 250 people to bring an unwrapped toy (estimated value over $10) to the Sam's Town 18 Theater, will be invited to see the movie with Mickey Jones (based on space availability).
