Willow Beach cleanup event planned Sunday

Outside Las Vegas is co-sponsoring the annual Willow Beach Cleanup as part of International Beach Cleanup Day and Ecology Drive 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Willow Beach in the Lake Mead National Recreational Area.
Volunteers and certified divers are being sought to help pick up trash and dive for junk. Cleanup workers should bring gloves and footwear that can get wet. Divers need to bring dry suits or 7mm wet suits, a good and gloves and be certified with a "C" card.
Volunteers are asked to meet on the beach between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. to prepare for dives at 10:30 and 12:30.
A barbecue will follow the cleanup at 2 p.m., complete with raffle and door prizes. In addition to Outside Las Vegas, sponsors include Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures, National Park Service, Nevada Scuba Retailers Association and Project Aware.
