Lucille M. Amador

Lucille M. Amador, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born July 29, 1925, in Los Angeles. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony J.; two daughters, Toni Amador of East Bend, N.C., and Linda Galardo of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one son, Mark Amador of Whittier, Calif.; two sisters, Marion Bovi of Placentia, Calif., and Anna Campagna of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Thomas Bass

Thomas Bass, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Waterproof, La. A resident for 41 years, he was a sous chef at the Four Queens.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Anderson-Bass; five daughters, Diane Bass and Francis Bass, both of California, and Tommie Bass, Cassandra Bass and Katrina Bass, all of Las Vegas; four sons, Ronald Bass, Thomas Bass Jr., Eddie Anderson and Lonnie Bass, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Samuel Bass of California and Melvin Bass and Robert Bass Jr., both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Geneva Simon and Pearle Mae Bass, both of Tallulah, La., and Dorothy Green of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will be private.

Janet Ann Norris Bearup

Janet Ann Norris Bearup, 67, of Hazelhurst, Miss., died Monday in a Mississippi hospital. She was born Oct. 19, 1935, in Little Rock, Ark. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; three sons, Gary Freeman of Las Vegas, Michael Freeman of San Francisco and Kelly Freeman of Florida; one daughter, Shelly Jackson of Florida; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Lena Elka Berry

Lena Elka Berry, 24 days, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 15 in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Cheri C. and Christopher M. Berry, one brother, Christopher M. Berry Jr., three sisters, Crystal M. Berry, Angelique C. Berry and Haylee C. Berry, and her grandparents, Carolyn and Mike Berry and Ellen and Cory Blazevich, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Dorice A. Bruno

Dorice A. Bruno, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Central Falls, R.I. A resident for 43 years, she was a personnel manager for a department store.

She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Richards, one son, Frank Bruno, and one brother, Robert Girard, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Sept. 22 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

W.L. 'Bill' Creech

The family of W.L. "Bill" Creech, 76, of Henderson, who died Aug. 26, will have a local memorial service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Nellis Air Force Base Chapel. Out-of-town visitation is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 23 in Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News, Va. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at Langley Air Force Base Chapel, Hampton, Va. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sept. 25 at the memorial chapel in Fort Myer, Arlington, Va., followed by the interment service at Arlington National Cemetery.

Harold Curry

Harold Curry, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday. A retired master electrician and a World War II Army veteran, he was born July 31, 1921, in St. Louis.

He is survived by one son, Mark Curry of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mary Beth Harcourt of Las Vegas and Janette Alfaro of Surprise, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Leland Reid Dyreng

Leland Reid Dyreng, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 5, 1921, in Manti, Utah. A resident for 34 years, he was a water treatment plant operator, worked in the Las Vegas Temple for 14 years, was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Sea Bee's organization and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy; three daughters, Laura Lee Dyreng-Forrester of Tonopah, Ariz., Victoria Dyreng-Sheetz of Cedar City, Utah, and Gloria Jean Dyreng-Leeds of Las Vegas; three brothers, Ivan L. Dyreng Jr. of Salt Lake City, Gail E. Dyreng of Bountiful, Utah, and David Boyd Dyreng of Las Vegas; one sister, Maxine Dyreng-Andrews of Salem, Utah; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the Sun Valley Drive LDS Chapel. Burial will follow in Manti City Cemetery, Manti, Utah.

Lawrence William Edwards

Lawrence William Edwards, 23, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 7, 1979, in California. A resident for four years, he was self-employed in a detail shop.

He is survived by his father, Lawrence W. Edwards Jr., and his mother, Cynthia Ann Young, both of California.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Gerald Cordell Froisland

Gerald Cordell Froisland, 70, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born May 21, 1933, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired Army staff sergeant.

He is survived by three sons, Steve Froisland of Las Vegas, Jacob Froisland of Florida and Ray Froisland of the Philippines; four daughters, Rowena Froisland and Maricel Rockwell, both of Las Vegas, Sandy Ziegler of Colorado and Ursula Buyington of Idaho; two sisters, Jackie Mortensen of Seattle and Cathy Bloom of Alabama; one brother, Jim Froisland of Portland, Ore.; and 14 grandchildren.

Services will be 6 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Consuelo Gonzalez

Consuelo Gonzalez, 43, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 18, 1960, in Guadalajara, Mexico. A resident for six years, she was a housekeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Emilio; four daughters, Teresa Rios, Lizbeth Gonzalez, Anthony Gonzalez, Izumar Gonzalez and Kataly Gonzalez, and one son, Christian Gonzalez, all of Las Vegas; her father, Gregorio Rivera, and two brothers, Juan Manuel Rivera and Ismael Rivera, all of Tijuana, Mexico; three sisters, Elena Luis and Graciela Rivera, both of Tijuana, and Beatriz Rivera of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Patricia Ann Harbor

Patricia Ann Harbor, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Las Vegas. A resident for 56 years, she was a child-care worker at Children's Choice Learning Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Shawna R. Johnson, her mother, Viola Johnson, one brother, Clay Carson Johnson, four sisters, June C. Johnson, Shirley R. Edmond, Althia L. Taylor and Kathy F. Johnson, and her grandmother, Estella Jimerson, all of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Helen M. Hill

Helen M. Hill, 81, of Boulder City died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Salina, Kan. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Roger of Pahrump; one son, Larry Hill of Boulder City; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

L.W. 'Joe' Lappin

L.W. "Joe" Lappin, 88, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Santa Paula, Calif. A resident for 62 years, he was a retired electrician for the federal government, a charter member, exalted ruler, district deputy, state president and grand lodge officer of the Boulder City Elks Club and a member of the Archeo club and 31'rs Club.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one son, David Lappin; one daughter, Penny Lester; one sister, Marjorie Thompson; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Boulder City Elks Hall. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Hollis W. Long

Hollis W. Long, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1932, in San Diego. A resident for nine years, he was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Debra Talavera and Loretta Morrow, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Monday in the LDS chapel, 9580 Peace Way. Graveside services will follow at noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Cora Nunn

Cora Nunn, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 6, 1918, in Heidelberg, Miss. A resident for four years, she was a nurse.

She is survived by three sons, Willie McCormick of Las Vegas and Tony Jones and Bobby Jones, both of Mississippi; one daughter, Mersey Lindsey of Las Vegas; two brothers, Richard Allen of Mississippi and H.V. Allen of Ohio; four sisters, Lillie Bridge of Las Vegas, Geneva Jones and Ida Mae Spride, both of Mississippi, and Lucy Mae Allen of Ohio; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be Mississippi. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Brice R. Richard

Brice R. Richard, 28, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born March 22, 1975, in Los Angeles. A resident for two years, he was a director of security in the entertainment industry.

He is survived by his wife, Brittany; and his mother, Marilyn Gail Richard.

Charles Michael Rorie III, 21, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1981, in Las Vegas. He was a laborer for a temporary agency.

He is survived by his father, Charles M. Rorie Jr. of Albany, N.Y.; his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Learnest Conyers Jr., his fiancee, Jeannie Warfield, two sisters, Letisha Rorie and Renata Rorie, one brother, Conan Rorie, and his grandmother, Alice Campman, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. A private burial will follow.

Claude E. Smith

Claude E. Smith, 90, of Boulder City died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Timbo, Ark. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired real estate broker and one of the founding members of Highland Hills Baptist Church of Henderson.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita; two sons, J.C. "Chuck" Smith and Tom R. Smith, of Boulder City; two daughters, Nita Coin of Mesa, Ariz., and Rebecca Dolan of Boulder City; seven grandsons; and four great-grandsons.

Visitation is scheduled 9:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, 850 Avenue B, Boulder City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.

Dwight C. Tobin

Dwight C. Tobin, 69, of Beatty died Saturday in Beatty. A musician and a Korean War Coast Guard veteran, he was born Nov. 25, 1933.

He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Snyder of Kingman, Ariz.; and one son, Shawn Tobin of Gold Bar, Wash.

She is survived by one son, Donald R. Williams of Las Vegas; two daughters, Maxine D. Riding and Shirley A. Sarlitto, both of Pahrump; one sister, Ruth Reynolds of Lakewood, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
