Rebecca Bowman

Rebecca Bowman, 49, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 16, 1954, in California. A longtime resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Christopher Hatcher of Riverside, Calif.; and her parents, Prior and Joyce Butcher of Missouri.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Jo Ann Butcher

Jo Ann Butcher, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. An administrative assistant for the federal government, she was born June 4, 1937, in California.

She is survived by her husband, William S.

Burial will be in Kingman, Ariz. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Leland Reid Dyreng

Leland Reid Dyreng, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 5, 1921, in Manti, Utah. A resident for 34 years, he was a water treatment plant operator, worked in the Las Vegas Temple for 14 years, was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Sea Bee's organization and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy; three daughters, Laura Lee Dyreng-Forrester of Tonopah, Victoria Dyreng-Shettz of Cedar City, Utah, and Gloria Jean Dyreng-Lees of Las Vegas; three brothers, Ivan L. Dyreng Jr. of Salt Lake City, Gail E. Dyreng of Bountiful, Utah, and David Boyd Dyreng of Las Vegas; one sister, Maxine Dyreng-Andrews of Salem, Utah; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Sun Valley Drive Chapel. Burial will follow in Manti City Cemetery, Manti, Utah.

Salvatore 'Sam George' Giorgio

Salvatore "Sam George" Giorgio, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born March 22, 1933, in Weirton, W.Va. A resident for 43 years, he was a supervisor at United Coin for 27 years and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He was preceded in death by one son, Craig George.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; two daughters, Deborah George of West Virginia and Debi Giovannone of Las Vegas; one son, Marc Giovannone of California; two sisters, Rosemarie Arnett of West Virginia and Geraldine Welch of Ohio; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.

Edna May Hahn

Edna May Hahn, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 7, 1919, in Marvin, S.D. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired retail sales manager.

She is survived by her husband, Clement B.

James Hansen

James Hansen, 44, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1958, in Montclair, N.J. A resident for 14 years, he was a computer programmer in the communications industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Alexandria Hansen of Zebulon, N.C.; one stepson, Patrick Fowler of Florida; his mother and stepfather, Sharon D. and Bob Furci, and one sister, Jessica Furci, all of Henderson; and two brothers, Kenneth Hansen of Las Vegas and John Cardinell of Henderson.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Ray N. Jaramillo

Ray N. Jaramillo, 70, of Las Cruces, N.M., and Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A building contractor, he was born Nov. 23, 1932, in New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine.

Katharine Shirley Jasonek

Katharine Shirley Jasonek, 72, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Greenville, S.C. A resident for six years, she was a retired teacher/administrator.

She is survived by one son, John Jasonek; and three grandchildren.

Cynthia Lynne Luedtke, 43, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born April 22, 1960, in California. A resident for eight years, she was a restaurant cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Mason J.; two daughters, Holly Mitchell and Lacy Lingg, both of Las Vegas; her parents, Ray and Mary Wilburn of Arizona; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church, 231 S. Third St. Burial will be private. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling arrangements.

Bonita Dower Madden, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born June 28, 1921, in Montreal. A resident for 40 years, she was a showgirl.

Barbara E. Mills

Barbara E. Mills, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Mills and Steven Mills, and two daughters, Barbara Mills and Desiree Staggs, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, George Brentley of New Hampshire and Danny Eisenbach of Virginia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Hisashi Moore

Hisashi Moore, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Sendai, Japan. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Charles R.; and three sisters, Shizuki, Yoshiko and Mutsuko, all of Japan.

A private visitation is scheduled at 8 a.m. Friday in Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1. A graveside service will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Walter G. Powell

Walter G. Powell, 96, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 23, 1906, in Hattiesburg, Miss. A resident for two years, he was a paper converter for Royal Industries for 31 years.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; one daughter, Poppy Bishop of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred F. Snyder

Mildred F. Snyder, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 18, 1918, in Hope, Ark. A resident for 42 years, she was a hospital nurse.

She is survived by four daughters, Dorthey Jensen of Nebraska, Deanne Jeffery and Doreene Sanders, both of Las Vegas, and Debra Woods of Castle Rock, Colo.; one son, Daniel Snyder of Mount Charleston; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
