Las Ventanas holds topping off ceremony
Monday, Sept. 8, 2003 | 11:17 a.m.
Construction workers lifted a final section of roof truss to the top of a three-story independent living apartment-style building during a topping-off ceremony at Las Ventanas on the southeast corner of Charleston Boulevard and Town Center Drive Thursday.
The truss was signed by future residents who have already placed a deposit on a unit in the building. The 17-acre, $90 million"life care community" project is scheduled to open in spring 2004. Driving forces behind the development are Westport Senior Living, Greystone Communities and the not-for-profit American Baptist Homes of the West.
