Shirley G. Bemus

Shirley G. Bemus, 89, of Boulder City died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 18, 1914, in Riceville, Iowa. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired accounting clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Devlin of Norwood, Mass.; two sons, Jerry Bemus of Little Rock, Ark., and Michael Bemus of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Josephine Bergman

Josephine Bergman, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 4, 1914, in New York. A resident for 26 years, she was a bookkeeper.

She is survived by one niece, Jeanette Letavec of Freeport, N.Y.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Bunkers Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Tianna Elaine Cabero

Tianna Elaine Cabero, 3 days old, died Aug. 25 in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 22 in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Stefanie Harris, her father, Joseph Cabero, and one sister, Brianna Lee Cabero, all of Las Vegas; and one brother, Lyric Cabero of Detroit.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Pat Caplan

Pat Caplan, 62, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Sept. 17, 1940, in Chicago. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired loan officer.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence; two sons, Richard Caplan and Robert Caplan, both of California; one brother, Daniel Zachary of Chicago; two sisters, Margaret Wrobel of Bradenton, Fla., and Rose Marie Shomiany of Chicago; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Bernice H. Cavender

Bernice H. Cavender, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born in Missouri. A longtime resident, she was a waitress.

She is survived by her husband, William.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in St. Louis. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

John Coghill

John Coghill, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 22, 1925, in Virginia. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired Army master sergeant and World War II and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Liesel; one daughter, Laura Stewart of Marietta, Ga.; one son, Lorenzo Coghill of Dublin, Ga; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Arthur C. Forbes

Arthur C. Forbes, 38, of Las Vegas died Aug. 27 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 16, 1964, in California. A resident for eight years, he was a baseball umpire and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Anthony Zeeveld; his father, Robert; one brother, Robert Wiley; and one sister, Bertha Marie.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Mickelene 'Mickey' Izzo

Mickelene "Mickey' Izzo, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Rome, N.Y. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired librarian.

She is survived by her husband, Carmen J.; two daughters, Elaine Izzo of Irvine, Calif., and Lynne Izzo of Tustin Ranch, Calif.; and one sister, Rose Patchen of Carmichael, Calif.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Dorothy E. Long

Dorothy E. Long, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 29, 1918, in Malvern, Ark. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcie Ann Anderson of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Morris J. Newman

Morris J. Newman, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. Born Jan. 29, 1918, in Portland, Ore., he was a retired owner of a food company.

He is survived by one daughter, Grace Shapiro of Las Vegas; one son, Alan Newman of Orange County, Calif.; two brothers, Sol Newman of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Ray Newman of West Corvina, Calif.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Theodore E. Nichols

Theodore E. Nichols, 97, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 18, 1905, in Illinois. A longtime resident, he was a public accountant.

He is survived by one daughter, Berneta L. Cooper of Las Vegas.

James L. O'Malley

James L. O'Malley, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Wisconsin. A resident for 25 years, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 23 years, was a Marine Corps and Air Force Vietnam War veteran, and a member of the NALC, No. 2502, and state vice president of the NALC.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Edie; one son, James P. O'Malley of Las Vegas; one daughter, Kathleen Sharrar; and two sisters, Patricia Murawski of Chicago and Maureen Wolff of Wisconsin.

A military service will be 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. An Irish wake will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at the National Association for Letter Carriers, 2620 E. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Edward J. Reaser

Edward J. Reaser, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 9, 1929, in Fairmont, W.Va. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired college maintenance worker and Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sugie, one son, James Reaser, three daughters, Mary Resnick, Debra Carper and Susan Reaser, and one sister, Frankie Cline, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Richard E. Reed

Richard E. Reed, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 14, 1939, Battle Creek, Mich. A resident for 20 years, he was a tool and die maker for the automobile industry.

He is survived by his wife, Jill E.; two sons, Craig Reed of Las Vegas and Mike Reed of Goldsboro, N.C.; two daughters, Kim Thomas of Pocatello, Idaho, and Teresa McLain of Bend, Ore.; one brother, Steven Reed of Sterling Heights, Mich.; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Stephen Collins Regan

Stephen Collins Regan, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. Born Jan. 27, 1928, in New York, he was a truck driver and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Regan-Olsen of Las Vegas, Margaret Nolen of New York and Susan Duffy and Ellen Ackler, both of Florida; one son, Stephen Regan of New York; one brother, Charles Regan of Florida; one sister, Sister Fedilies Regan of Pennsylvania; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way, followed by burial in Memory Gardens.

Howard Rosengarten

Howard Rosengarten, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 13, 1950, in England. A resident for eight years, he was an accountant.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; one son, Daniel Rosengarten of Las Vegas; his parents, Joseph and Jose Rosengarten, and one sister, Susan Grodent, all of London.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Fred Sanchez

Fred Sanchez, 88, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Mora, N.M. A resident for 62 years, he was a retired carpenter and a member of Moose Lodge 1763 and Carpenters Local 1780 for 57 years.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; three daughters, Bernadine Montoya of Truchas, N.M., and Patricia Sarrano and Ramona Meek, both of Las Vegas; one son, Henry Sanchez of Las Vegas; one brother, Albert Romero, and one sister, Loyola Lucero, both of Mora, N.M.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from noon until a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Benjamin Sendji, 27, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 8, 1976, in Africa. A resident for nine months, he was a securing agent.

He is survived by his wife; Caroline.

Amelia M. Serrano

Amelia M. Serrano, 79, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 16, 1924, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for 14 years, he was a manager cook for the school district.

He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Gann of Henderson; three brothers, Mike Salinas of Rosemead, Calif., and Angel Salinas and Albert Salinas, both of Los Angeles; one sister, Celia Turrietta of Norwalk, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Lloyd Tilley, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 19, 1929, in Olathe, Colo. A resident for 33 years, he was an Air Force tech sergeant and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Becky Wittig and Bonnie Clark, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Lucille Hilburn of Las Vegas, Marie Bettis of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ruby Wickersham of Roswell, N.M.; and four grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two daughters, Yolande McGowan of Portland, Ore., and Lorraine Williams of Las Vegas; one son, Charles J. Williams of Las Vegas; four brothers, Timothy Williams, Darryl Williams, Gregory Walker and Carl Walker; three sisters, Johnnie Ruth Walker, Geraldine Walker and Margie Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Warren R. Wilson, 55, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 1, 1948, in Harveysburg, Ohio. A resident for 20 years, he was a fiber designer for a communications company.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene T.; one son, David Thompson of El Paso, Texas; his mother, Helen Furguson of Covington, Ky.; and 16 brothers and sisters.
