Moncrief buys home in Ward 1

Las Vegas Councilwoman Janet Moncrief bought a home in her district in August, according to records from the Clark County tax assessor's office.

The home on Crystal Cave Drive is south of Charleston Boulevard between Buffalo Drive and Rainbow Boulevard, according to the records, which valued it at $405,000. It occupies about half an acre.

The residence of Ward 1 representative Moncrief became an issue during the spring election, when her opponent pointed out that she owned a home outside the district. She has said that she was living in the district in a rental property.

Moncrief was not available for comment this morning.
